What is sublime? This is a concept debated by philosophers. For me, it is any experience that provides me and my family with a sense of awe and good feelings. Below is our running list of sublime encounters from our trip around the world.
- The glitter of snow in the sun – Yellowstone
- Watching whales breach the ocean surface near the shore where we stood – Cabo San Lucas
- Arriving in a warm place after a cold day of skiing
- Watching our children b come themselves
- Soaking in a natural hot spring while snow falls – Steamboat Springs, CO
- Visualizing the night sky without light pollution (hopefully we’ll be able to change this to ‘experiencing’ in New Zealand)
- Communicating in a different language
