We ended up in Sedona, AZ, an amazingly beautiful place with an abundance of outdoor activities and spirituality both related to the geology of the area. After our Grand Canyon excursion (shout out to Williams, AZ where we stayed), we decided that AZ was a good place to be because of the low number ofContinue reading “Into the Vortex”

Bearizona and Slide Rock
Yes, there is a place called Bearizona Wilderness Park, and we loved it https://bearizona.com/. It’s safari but with North American animals (bears, mountain goats, wolves, deer, burros). You drive through the park to see the animals in an open habit within the park. They also have a zoo; we discovered ’javelinas,’ a type of peccaryContinue reading “Bearizona and Slide Rock”
Detour
The really happy person is the one who can enjoy the scenery, even when they have to take a detour. Attributed to Sir James Jeans The end of our around the world trip allowed us to take a detour, so we chose the Grand Canyon, 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km)Continue reading “Detour”
Chupacabra
Justin and I indulged in coffee while in Cabo San Lucas. The brand we discovered is Chupacabra (the signature roast, I think) https://www.chupacabra-coffee.com. From the first sip to the last sip, we thoroughly enjoyed it. For us, this coffee was the best we’ve ever had. It is very smooth and not bitter at all noContinue reading “Chupacabra”
Back in the U.S.
Our journey back to the states was very smooth. Three flights had been consolidated into one. Only 20 people were on the flight. Once in LAX we didn’t have to have a health screening, maybe because we came from a place that doesn’t have any reported cases. We took off early and landed 45 minutesContinue reading “Back in the U.S.”
Under the Sea
So, are you guys for scuba? Claude, the scuba instructor, as played by Hank Azaria in the movie ‘Along Came Polly’ Justin, Q, and D went scuba diving in the ‘living aquarium’ near Pelican Rock in the Baja de Cabo San Lucas near finisterra. They had an excellent guide. Aldo from Tito’s Sports. More toContinue reading “Under the Sea”
Surftown
We spent Thursday on Playa Los Cerritos on the Pacific Ocean side of the Baja. The beauty of this place is unbelievable! The beach itself is a crescent shape with rolling waves perfect for surfing. Everyone—except the gimp sniff 😢—took surf lessons from Salvatore Mario’s Surf School. The sand in the surf sparkles bronze—a mixtureContinue reading “Surftown”
Need advice!
We are flying back to the states on Monday, but where should we fly to? The original flight is To Los Angeles (en route to New Zealand, 😢), but that is not advisable due to the state lockdown. Here is what we are considering—we really need some feedback from you all at home. fly toContinue reading “Need advice!”
Desert and Sea
We visited Canon de La Zorra (Fox Canyon) where we hiked into a desert canyon and took a dip in a pool fed by a waterfall. https://www.loscabosguide.com/canyon-of-the-fox/mx/index.phpThen we headed to Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo, Cabo Pulmo National Park where no fishing is allowed and no sun screen. It is a marine life refuge. Whad the beachContinue reading “Desert and Sea”
Life is what Happens
We are abandoning our trip due to border closings, air travel cancellations, and guidance from the U.S. State Department. We aren’t yet sure of how we are going to return to the states or when; we’ll share details when we have them. Stay healthy!
