We are flying back to the states on Monday, but where should we fly to? The original flight is To Los Angeles (en route to New Zealand, 😢), but that is not advisable due to the state lockdown. Here is what we are considering—we really need some feedback from you all at home.
- fly to Arizona because they have a low number of cases and weight be able to switch the timeshare from Italy to a place in AZ. Then drive to Deep Creek Lake and then to Silver Spring
- fly to New Mexico because they have a low number of cases, there are fewer people in that state and we might be able to transfer the Italian timeshare to some place in NM. Then drive to Deep Creek Lake and then to Silver Spring.
- fly to Pittsburgh. Then drive to Deep Creek Lake to stay at the family house, and then to Silver Spring.

Hope you are well!
We were flying home to Phoenix in two weeks, that would have been fun to see you there, but that wouldn’t be an option with social distancing. We cancelled our flights. Nothing is open there and they have 109 cases in Arizona (MD has 190). It’s everywhere! Honestly, at this point, there’s no where that’s safe. Everyone is hunkering down no matter where they live. You should probably just take flight that gets you closest to Deep Creek, so you can get there and quarantine yourselves. I imagine you’ll have to be in quarantine for 14 days, since you’ve been out of the country.
So sorry you guys are having to cancel your travels. Good luck! Hope to see you guys soon😊

I would say AZ for the Grand Canyon and then drive through NM and maybe to Santa Fe or the Painted Desert. I know so little of that area but the wide open spaces will be nice and hopefully easy to travel through. Good luck.
