Detour

The really happy person is the one who can enjoy the scenery, even when they have to take a detour.

Attributed to Sir James Jeans

The end of our around the world trip allowed us to take a detour, so we chose the Grand Canyon, 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep.

Today we hiked the awesome Bright Angel Trail. We had amazing weather: blue sky with fluffy white clouds and an average of 55 degrees.
There were quite a few small groups there; the park didn’t feel deserted at all. The only inconvenience was the location of the open restrooms.
