Many of you have asked about the impact of the corona virus on our trip. We thank you for the support and concern.
Right now we are in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. In the airport were many reassurances that Baja California Sur is Coronavirus-free; and the tourism industry and government are taking the threat seriously. We will be here another week. Then we plan to fly to New Zealand. This week, we will be contacting the airline to find out if that flight is still happening.
We have been reading the news to stay informed of the latest developments. We are not totally off the grid!
Our plans for Vietnam and South Africa are unlikely to materialize; South Africa is considering travel restrictions, and travel to Asia seems unnecessarily risky at this point. Our European summer plans are affected; the week when we visit Italy for sure, but we don’t know yet about the other countries. We need to find out what travel is permitted and then make our decisions from there. As of right now, we have another month to make changes.
We are thinking of you all and missing you and hoping you and yours are well! Keep us posted about what’s happening where you are. We are also thinking about all the healthcare professionals we know (and don’t know for that matter) and are saying special prayers for them.
